Yacht Importation in France: French VAT number from 2022 required 

From January 1st 2022, France implements compulsory and automatic VAT reverse charge mechanism on import for businesses importing goods in France.  

As the import VAT will now be paid to the Tax Authorities, it will be mandatory to file a VAT return and to have a valid French VAT number as of January 1st, 2022. 

If you need to import a vessel in France in 2022 and do not have yet a French VAT number, please contact our French office at info.france@sosyachting.com in order to launch the application as soon as possible.
