Italy | Yachting: 18th May- reopening of production and commercial activities
On Saturday, May 16 the latest Decree issued by the President of the Council of Ministers was published in the Official Gazette with which it establishes the reopening of almost all production and commercial activities in the Italian territory starting from today, MAY 18, except entertainment companies: cinemas, discos and theaters.
Regarding the rules in force for travel from abroad to Italy, please refer to our publication of 6 May u.s. (click here to read).
As for the nautical sector, ship-chandlers reopen today and people can now go to the offices of dealers and brokers who had already been opened, but who worked at a slower pace because people could not go to visit the yachts.
Starting from June 3rd, travel between different Italian regions and the arrival from abroad will be liberalized.
The nautical industry is working with the Ministry of Transport to improve the legislation, with the common goal of allowing operators to save an acceptable number of weeks of chartering to continue operating, especially with regard to the boarding limits between non-cohabiting people in which they believed that the charter sector fully meets the security requirements of the Government because:
• the majority of charter customers are families that once on board are once again isolated from the external context, no more or less as if they were at home.
• The boat is a limited place that is not difficult to monitor, track and sanitize especially with means such as ozone or nebulization and which therefore offers the lowest degree of risk of exposure to contagion and social aggregation more than any other tourist activity.
We will keep you updated on upcoming developments pending June 3, confident that it will be possible to have a 2020 charter season safely.
